Reflective foil insulation is a lightweight thermal material that reduces heat transfer by reflecting up to 95–97% of radiant energy. It typically consists of aluminium foil laminated to kraft paper, plastic films, bubble wrap, or foam.
How it works:
The foil reflects radiant heat, acts as a vapour barrier to control moisture, and, when combined with bubble wrap or foam, adds an insulating air gap.
Applications:
Commonly used in roofs, walls, floors, HVAC ducts, hot water pipes, and thermal packaging.
Benefits:
- Easy to install
- Resists moisture
- Improves other insulation systems
- Performs well in hot climates
- Offers a cost-effective boost to energy efficiency
