3M™ VHB™ Tape 5962

3M™ VHB™ Tape 5962 is a 1.6 mm (0.062 in) thick black double-coated acrylic foam tape
with a red PE film liner. It features a modified acrylic adhesive that bonds to high, medium,
and low surface energy substrates including metals, glass, and many plastics and paints,
even powder-coated finishes. This tape provides a strong, permanent bond, excellent
conformability, and reliable performance in a wide range of applications, replacing
mechanical fasteners and liquid adhesives.

Handling & Storage
• Clean surfaces with a 50:50 isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and water mixture before
application.
• Apply firm pressure (approx. 15 psi / 100 kPa) for optimal adhesion.
• Ideal application temperature: 21°C to 38°C (70°F to 100°F).
• Minimum application temperature: 10°C (50°F).
• Shelf life: 24 months when stored between 4°C and 38°C (40°F to 100°F).
